Privacy Policy

The short version: we don't collect any personal data. There's no Duo Chess account, the app sends nothing to our servers, and there are no analytics, ads or tracking. Your games stay on your device, and if you buy Pro, in your own iCloud account. Game Center, iCloud and purchases are run by Apple, not by us.

What's saved on your device

To make the app work, Duo Chess saves these on your device:

• Your saved games (the moves, result, date, mode, time control and handicaps)
• Your rare-move cards
• Your settings, such as sound, haptics and piece rotation

Deleting a game removes it from your device. Deleting the app removes all of it, except what's synced to iCloud (see below).

iCloud sync (Pro)

If you buy Duo Chess Pro, your saved games and rare-move cards sync between your devices through iCloud. They're stored in a private database in your own iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit. We can't see or access it, and only devices signed in to your Apple Account can read it. Apple handles this data under the Apple Privacy Policy.

Sync is on by default once you have Pro. You can turn it off with the iCloud sync switch in the app's Settings; your games then stay on this device. Games you delete in the app are deleted from iCloud too, and you can remove all synced data in the Settings app under your name › iCloud.

Game Center

Duo Chess uses Apple's Game Center to sign you in, show your Game Center photo and award achievements for rare moves. Your Game Center profile and achievements are handled by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy. The app uses them only on your device and never sends them to us. Game Center is optional: if you're not signed in, everything else works the same.

Purchases

Pro is a one-time in-app purchase, handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. The app asks the App Store on your device whether you own Pro; no server of ours is involved.

What we don't do

• No analytics or usage tracking
• No ads, no advertising identifiers and no tracking across apps or websites
• No selling or sharing of data, because we don't have any

Sharing a game

When you share a game, the app creates a PGN text file and hands it to the iOS share sheet. You decide where it goes. We never see it.

Support messages

If you write to us through the form on the support page, we store what you send (name, email, topic, device and message) together with your IP address and browser details, so we can reply and keep out spam. We use it only to answer you and delete it when it's no longer needed. Write to us if you'd like your message deleted sooner.

Children

Duo Chess is made for players of all ages, including families playing together. We collect no personal data from anyone, children included.

Changes to this policy

This policy describes Duo Chess 1.0. If a future version changes how the app uses data, we'll update this page before that version is released and change the date above.
